I will never understand why people say "we" as in "Can we change the toner in the copier?" when they really mean "you" as in "Can you change the toner in the copier?" Honestly, I'd be less disdainful if folks were just straightforward in their request.
When I come across someone who uses the royal "we," I am reminded of what an old English teacher once us that US Navy Admiral Hyman G.Rickover told a subordinate who used the royal "we": "Three groups are permitted that usage: pregnant women, royalty, and schizophrenics. Which one are you?" |

I was inspired today and cooked up a storm. My oven has been on all day. Luckily, I cook with gas.
Tried a bunch of recipes, casseroles and such, and plan to test the freeze/reheat quality of various dishes. My fridge and freezer are stuffed full. I'm not a big fan of leftovers, yet, ironically, I am incapable of cooking for one and make a ton of food.
Farmers' market in the morning, cooking and watching football the rest of the day - can't ask for a better plan.

I love that the Cowboys played Sunday night. NBC has good HD and I don't get interrupted/pixelated feeds on that channel like I do with Fox (FUCK YOU COMCAST!), but this means I now have to catch up on my usual Sunday night viewing. Tonight was the Mad Men season finale.
Watching highlights of the Green Bay/Tampa Bay game from this afternoon makes me crave orange creamsicles in the worst way. That's what the Bucs retro uniforms remind me of. |

With the end of Daylight Savings Time, I usually get a few days where by body clock wakes up at the old hour (which is now an hour earlier). I never feel more rested than I do on the first Sunday when it ends.
So what did I do this morning when I woke up a whole hour and a half earlier than I normally do? Did I make breakfast (which I never do) or get ready at a leisurely pace and enjoy the morning instead of making a mad dash of getting ready and getting out the door? No, I watched White Collar from Friday.

Based on the promos for next week, I may actually burst from glee.
In other news, last year I was content to wait until December for NBC to air Friday Night Lights. Probably a holdover from my ambivalence to the previous season (I'm looking at you "Tyra and Landry kill Tyra's rapist" plot point). This season, fuck it. I'm downloading. I'm not even sure at this point, given the decisions NBC is making, there will be airings or even a network to air this show. |

In other news, I can't help it. Miley Cyrus' Party in the USA is addictive, but it's also making me hyper sensitive to auto-tuned voices which I'm hearing more of in Glee. Makes me wonder how they plan to pull off a concert tour. |

White Collar in one word: CHARMING! And great menswear.
Plus Matt Bomer is just hot and goofy. And he's from Texas with Dallas Cowboys blood in him and went to high school with Lee Pace. What's not to like? Love seeing Bryce Larkin Neal Caffrey on my screen. I like what this show is doing.
Plus this gives me a tenuous connection to Chuck until its return. Rumor has it with the failings of the dramas NBC has premiered this season (I still haven't bothered to look at the eps of Trauma on my DVR - can't tell if it's worth it or not.) Charles Carmichael might be here sooner than later. |

Turned down multiple offers for things to do today so that I could be home to watch the Cowboys game and boy, am I glad I did.
Miles Austin - I <3 him so! He has a great ass. Oh, and he is having a great season.
Saw Fox's Glee twitter account tweet links to fanfic. I have to say it makes me a little nervous when I see corporate shining a light on fandom. No clue what Glee fanfic looks like, but you know fandom. Probably unlikely that they'll promote anything risque, but once you start checking out links, it's a short click count to the more fringe elements of fandom. |

Founding Fathers Grill in Bones looks a little like Founding Farmers on Pennsylvania Avenue with the bottled veggies in the background. I wonder if anyone from the show had eaten there. They do not serve eggs in their meatloaf.
I have the oddest desire to check out a haunted corn maze in NoVa. Not sure why.

I am thoroughly enjoying Eastwick and Castle. I'm loving these egotistical, charming, roguish men. Paul Gross has this wonderful gravelly voice. Don't know where he's getting it from, maybe the smoking is catching up with him? I still see a hint of Benton Fraser when I see him. Nathan Fillion is a delightful scamp.
Trying to decide if I want to give up Desperate Housewives, Heroes, and Gossip Girl. They're just not holding my interest like they used to. Three Rivers is about to make my cut list too. I want to like it. I love Katherine Moennig and Daniel Henney, but the show just isn't doing it for me. It's heavy handed in its situations, in the storytelling, and in proving that the show is set in Pittsburgh.
I gave up on Mercy and am close to forgoing Trauma without even watching it. If NBC is going to give up on its scripted dramas, I don't see why I should bother.
In other news, are the Miami Dolphins hard up for money? Just saw a report that Fergie of the Black Eyed Peas may be a new owner on the heels of news that Rush Limbaugh will not be an owner of the St. Louis Rams. Other Dolphins owners are Marc Anthony, Venus and Serena Williams, Jimmy Buffett, and Emilio and Gloria Estefan. |
